Pass the meat please!
My blood test revealed that I have normal to low B12 levels. Not surprising considering that I eat very little animal products which is exactly where B12 can be found. So I have recently started working hamburgers into my diet. Skipping the bun of course. After a miserable first attempt at cooking a beef liver dinner and an unforgettable attempt at forcing it down my throat, I have begged and pleaded a friend for a liver dinner invitation. I'm thinking that since she likes liver she has found a way of turning the inedible into something edible. 1600% of your daily intake of B12 in a small serving of calf liver keeps me hoping!!!
It was told to us that "there is no excuse for not eating healthy". So Right'o Rob!! Lock up the cookies! Put away the wine! Let's do this! 16 weeks to go! Vitamin A to power up the immune system. Protein to build some muscle. Bring on the iron!

As I go through the week I may need to make slight changes to my food intake that I will make note of. I'm thinking these changes will most often be a result of increased caloric need from training and sometimes it may just happen that I haven't planned as well as I should have and need to be a little flexible :)
Changes:
No spelt puffs were to be found in the grocery stores that I visited this week. I replaced it with Spelt Flakes and was so happy I did. Delicious!! I added raisins and maple syrup to it and took away the milk. Yum!
Instead of Cashews I had rice milk within twenty minutes of waking up. I'll be adding some cashews for an extra post workout snack after I run the hill in New Hamburg this morning.
